Job Description

Overview We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong experience designing electrical control systems for industrial machinery and OEM equipment. This role will focus on electrical control panel/cabinet design, schematics, machine controls, power distribution, and switchgear for equipment used in wire and cable manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on industrial equipment background rather than experience focused primarily on commercial building electrical systems, MEP consulting, construction, or utility power distribution. Required Qualifications 5+ years of electrical engineering/design experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Advanced experience with AutoCAD Electrical Electrical control panel and cabinet design experience Experience designing electrical systems for industrial machinery or OEM equipment Strong electrical schematic and wiring diagram experience Experience with machine control systems Power distribution and/or switchgear design experience Knowledge of industrial control circuits and electrical systems Ability to develop detailed electrical drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Preferred Qualifications PLC-controlled machinery or industrial automation experience Experience working closely with Mechanical Engineers Manufacturing, production, or equipment testing experience Customer-facing technical support experience SolidWorks experience Familiarity with
NEC, CSA, UL508A, NFPA 70, NFPA
79, and
NFPA 70E
standards Responsibilities Design electrical control panels, cabinets, machine control systems, power distribution, and switchgear assemblies Create electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical Develop bills of material, wiring diagrams, electrical drawings, and technical specifications Design electrical systems for industrial manufacturing machinery Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams on equipment integration Support manufacturing, assembly, testing, and production during equipment builds Review engineering changes and implement design improvements Support projects from initial concept through commissioning Troubleshoot electrical design and equipment issues Provide technical support to internal teams and customers as needed Ensure electrical designs meet applicable industrial electrical and safety standards
