12+ Months Job Summary The Associate Utility Design Administrator supports the design and execution of electric and/or gas utility projects, including new construction, system upgrades, and capital maintenance. This role is responsible for project initiation, design preparation, cost estimation, and customer coordination throughout the project lifecycle. The position also serves as a key point of contact for customers, guiding them through the company's New Business Process while ensuring designs meet company standards, tariffs, and regulatory requirements. This role operates under the guidance of senior administrators. Key Responsibilities Perform design work for electric and/or gas utility projects, including new service installations, expansions, and system improvements Prepare preliminary designs, cost estimates, and project documentation Maintain knowledge of company standards, tariffs, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliant and cost-effective designs Identify customer needs and provide appropriate utility design solutions Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, developers, contractors, engineering firms, and local agencies throughout the project lifecycle Facilitate clear communication between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery Prepare and present financial agreements/contracts to customers, ensuring accuracy and completeness Coordinate and participate in pre-construction meetings with inspectors, foremen, and service managers Support customer satisfaction initiatives and continuous process improvement Participate in after-hours on-call rotation and assist with service restoration during emergencies, as required Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of related work experience in utility design, construction, or a similar field Skills & Knowledge Basic understanding of electric and/or gas utility design, operations, and construction practices Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations related to utility distribution systems
