Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a vital, hands-on nursing role supporting students' well-being across multiple school sites as a contract RN for the upcoming academic year. As a key resource within a dynamic school community, you'll draw on your expertise to keep children and staff healthy, safe, and prepared to thrive. You'll work full-time (30-33 hours per week) in an onsite, itinerant capacity, traveling to various elementary and secondary school locations.
Schedules vary by site:
elementary (M-F, 8:30am-3:15pm) and secondary (M-F, 7:30am-2:15pm). The contract runs from August 4, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Current RN license and eligibility to practice in the state Nursing experience in pediatric, school health, or community settings strongly preferred Familiarity with conducting health screenings (height, weight, vision, hearing, scoliosis) and interpreting results Ability to manage routine and emergency care independently, following the Nurse Practice Act Excellent communication and organizational abilities Comfort traveling between multiple school locations
Key Responsibilities:
Perform specialized nursing procedures in compliance with regulations Conduct initial health screenings and coordinate follow-ups and referrals for further medical evaluation Respond swiftly to emergencies, administering urgent care as needed Maintain accurate immunization and communicable disease records; uphold state legal requirements Order and manage medical supplies to keep clinics running smoothly Deliver routine healthcare and respond to daily student and staff needs Administer medications safely with appropriate documentation and permissions Create a positive impact on students' lives through expert nursing care and school-wide health education.
