Job Description
Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Electrical designer / Control Panel Designer in the Houston TX area. This is a full time direct hire position. PTO (sick and vacation), paid holidays, and profit sharing. Role Overview Detail-oriented Electrical Designer for automated manufacturing systems. Prepare project design packages—schematics, layouts, BOMs, and installation details—under Project Manager supervision. Based in a Houston office with regular shop-floor collaboration from design through build. Key Responsibilities Complete electrical designs and layouts for full systems and project components.
Produce design packages:
wiring schematics, layouts, BOMs, and installation details. Apply established design standards and methods; create accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings. Coordinate with mechanical and electrical designers to maintain design quality. Deliver assigned work on time and to standard; support other engineering needs as required. Required Qualifications Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Design, Electrical Technology, or related field (bachelor's a plus). 3+ years of electrical design for industrial, OEM, or engineered equipment. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to manage multiple projects, communicate clearly, and work effectively in a team. Technical Skills Industrial control systems, power distribution, motor control circuits, and PLC I/O / panel design. Wire, cable, and conduit sizing; instrumentation and field-device wiring. Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings; document purchase requests accurately. Preferred Qualifications Background in automation, robotics, machine tools, or custom machinery. Hands-on control-panel build and field wiring experience. ERP/MRP experience for BOM generation (JobBOSS preferred).Familiarity with control-system codes:
NEC 70, UL 508A, NFPA 79, ANSI/RIA 15.06, CE, ATEX/EX, IEC.
