This role is responsible for the electrical design and documentation of automated packaging machinery and related equipment. This role independently develops electrical design packages, selects and applies electrical components, releases electrical bills of material, and supports equipment through manufacturing and assembly. Key Responsibilities Develop complete machine electrical design packages using AutoCAD Electrical, including electrical schematics and associated documentation. Select, size, and apply electrical components and hardware based on machine and application requirements. Create and release accurate electrical bills of material (BOMs) in accordance with project schedules. Apply industrial automation hardware including Rockwell Automation components, servo systems, VFDs, machine safety hardware, sensors, and related devices. Apply company electrical design standards and applicable UL requirements. Independently resolve moderately complex electrical design issues. Support Manufacturing and Assembly by troubleshooting and resolving electrical design and hardware issues during machine build. Work directly with vendors to evaluate, select, and apply electrical components. Collaborate with Mechanical and Controls Engineering to ensure electrical designs integrate with the overall machine. Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with customers. Identify and contribute to improvements in electrical designs, components, standards, and engineering practices. Complete quality engineering work efficiently while meeting project commitments. Assist and share technical knowledge with other team members as appropriate. Qualifications Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Electromechanical Technology, or a related technical field; bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field also applicable. Relevant experience with industrial electrical design, automation equipment, machinery, or a similar environment preferred. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software preferred. Familiarity with PLC hardware, servo drives, VFDs, machine safety devices, sensors, and related industrial automation components. Rockwell Automation hardware experience is beneficial. Ability to read, develop, and troubleshoot electrical schematics. Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to independently manage engineering work and meet project commitments.
