Job Description

A manufacturer of lighting products located in Trevose, PA is seeking a Principal Power Electronics Engineer to join their team. This person will design and bring to production high-power inverter and energy conversion systems used in demanding industrial environments. This role requires a builder-minded engineer who thrives at the bench-debugging hardware, solving real-world problems, and driving designs from concept through release and in-field performance support . You will take ownership of power architecture, hardware development, and product delivery , ensuring designs perform not only in the lab but in real-world applications over time. If you've spent your career bringing converters to life, chasing down EMI and thermal issues, and seeing your designs successfully deployed in the field, this might be the position for you.
Required experience:
Bi-Directional Inverter/Charger:
Hands-on design & development of high-power bi-directional topologies, schematic through tested hardware;
AC Ratings:
120VAC-575VAC line voltages, up to 200A, proven in shipped products;
DC Ratings:
DC bus voltages up to 480VDC, DC currents up to 400ADC in product environments;
Battery System Integration:
Direct experience with power electronics interfacing battery systems, charge/discharge control, Li-ion, LFP, lead-acid;
PCB Layout:
High-power, high-voltage PCB layout, must have personally laid out boards, not just reviewed them;
Power Devices:
IGBTs, MOSFETs, and gate driver circuit design, device selection, drive design, thermal management. #IND
