Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) seeks a Senior Engineer to support safe, reliable operation and modernization of our electric distribution system. In this role, you'll lead planning, design, and analysis of distribution networks, perform load and reliability studies, and develop standards for equipment and protection. You'll partner with operations and field teams on capital projects, system upgrades, and outage response, while helping integrate clean energy and grid automation. Responsibilities Lead planning, design, and engineering of BGE's electric distribution systems to ensure safe, reliable service Analyze system performance data, identify reliability issues, and recommend technical solutions and upgrades Support grid modernization, automation, and clean energy integration projects across central Maryland Develop and review engineering drawings, standards, and specifications for distribution assets and equipment Coordinate with operations, field crews, and contractors to support project execution and outage response Perform load studies, protection and coordination reviews, and system modeling using engineering software Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry codes, and BGE/Exelon standards Support capital project scoping, cost estimating, and prioritization based on risk and performance Provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams Contribute to safety initiatives, process improvements, and innovation efforts to enhance system reliability Required Skills Electric power distribution engineering Electrical system modeling and analysis Protection and coordination studies Distribution planning and load studies Grid modernization and automation technologies GIS and distribution design tools (e.g., CYME, Synergi, Smallworld) Regulatory codes and standards (NESC, NEC, IEEE) Project management and capital planning SCADA and distribution control systems Data analysis and reliability engineering (SAIDI/SAIFI)
