As a leading provider of engineered plastics and composite solutions, our team works together to solve complex manufacturing challenges and deliver exceptional results for our customers We are seeking an Engineering Program Manager to join our Engineering team and play a key role in coordinating new product development, APQP, customer launches, and strategic engineering initiatives. This position will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, suppliers, and customers to drive projects forward, manage priorities, and ensure key deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and track outsourcing activities related to tooling, fixtures, quality gauges, and manufacturing engineering. Create, submit, and track Engineering purchase orders and project-related orders. Develop and maintain Engineering procedures, work instructions, APQP processes, and supporting documentation. Manage order entry for new projects, including sample orders, shop orders, and outsourcing purchase orders. Develop, track, manage, and communicate Engineering department metrics. Support quoting activities by reviewing quote packages for accuracy and completeness, obtaining supplier quotes, building quote lines in Sunset, and supporting on-time quote completion. Manage sample submission activities with Application Engineers and customers. Manage Engineering tool inventory, including location identification, tracking, and disposition when necessary. Support special projects and strategic Engineering initiatives. Support cost-reduction projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide guidance and recommendations on Engineering program activities and requirements.
Qualifications:
2+ years of Experience supporting new product development, APQP, product launches, or automotive/manufacturing programs preferred. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers. Ability to manage multiple programs, priorities, and deadline in a fast-paved manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to identify issues and drive them toward resolution. Strong computer and systems skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office/Project and experience working with ERP, quoting, and other project management systems. Experience with Sunset or similar manufacturing/quoting software preferred.
Work Environment and Expectations:
100% onsite position in Saline, Michigan. Office environment with occasional time spent on the warehouse and manufacturing floor - adhering to all company safety policies and use of PPE while on production floor Occasional extended hours or additional support may be required based on project and customer needs.
