MD Network Planning Engineering & Design FedEx - 3.5 Moon Township, PA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications 5 years Engineering Senior level Leadership Full Job Description Directs the planning, engineering, and design of the North America FedEx Surface network and for supporting similar modeling programs globally to support capital planning across all regions. Ensure that facilities meet the strategic and tactical business needs of the Company's field operations. Responsible for the multi-year network plan, hub and station designs, operations efficiency improvements, and cost reduction opportunities. Support initiatives that deliver significant business value and ultimately improve operational capability and customer experience. Essential Functions Performs all human resource management functions to include hiring, terminations, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, performance management and staff productivity. Plans, organizes, staff, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the department, and manages the department budget. Ensures compliance and is responsible for addressing variances and other budget concerns. Directs forecasting of package volumes and required capacity by facility, modeling current and future network design opportunities, and identifying innovations in facility & material handling designs to meet customer needs in North America as well as globally. Directs ongoing development and enhancement of models used to drive strategic capital decisions. Develops and supports Global Long Range Outlook planning Sets the strategic direction of the Network Planning function. Ensures department priorities align with stakeholder needs and business objectives. Regularly communicates with Officer/Senior Officer team on planning decisions. Leads communications with field ops to ensure alignment with strategic plans for capacity. Develops and maintains awareness of key trends within industry and academia and evaluates opportunities and business cases for innovation in operations research, network planning, and facility/materials handling design. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related area. Minimum Experience Eight (8) years of experience in Engineering or related technical or analytical area, with a minimum of five (5) years direct staff management experience required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to motivate a team to perform at the highest level by inspiring a shared vision and empowering them to act Proven ability to apply sound business judgment to establish and accomplish goals Demonstrated ability to build professional rapport, effectively lead a team and positively influence diverse groups Excellent analytical and communication (written and verbal) abilities Proficient leadership and people skills enabling consensus building and ultimate implementation of initiatives that deliver significant business value Job Conditions Some travel required
