Power Delivery Project Manager Leidos Inc $73,450.00•$132,775.00 / yr United States, North Carolina, Asheville Apr 24, 2026 Description Leidos Engineering is seeking a Project Manager to join our Strategic Program Consulting team within our Power Delivery Solutions division. In this role, you will work alongside engineering managers and account managers to provide Project Management Services supporting Distribution Substation Optimization projects for a key Leidos' uitlity client. This role is hybrid capable, but will require travel to and from Western NC and Upstate SC for client related meetings as well as site and office visits. Candidates in these areas may be preferred due to proximity, but candidates elsewhere in the Carolinas will also be considered if willing to travel. This position is responsible for management, or assisting management, of all phases of project planning and execution to ensure project success factors are met. These factors include but are not limited to scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration. The Project Manager is accountable for a portfolio of assigned projects that impact various levels of the Company, Senior Management or External Agencies. The Project Manager may be assigned projects with specific risk-informed requirements based on specific experience and skill sets. The PM serves as a unifying agent providing leadership, decision making, management, guidance, coordination, and control of overall projects in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements of the Company.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, oversight, direction, delegation, and coordination with various internal and external organizations providing services to the project(s)(Development, Engineering, Project Controls, Estimating, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Legal, EHS, QA/QC, Operations, Communications, Stakeholder Engagement, Regulatory, Security, Fuels, Transmission, etc.). Establish and maintain communications among project/programs stakeholders; Structure, lead, or assist in project related meetings to ensure open communication between team members, key stakeholders, and management. Prepare, communicate or report monthly project status, kickoff meetings, weekly and monthly required communication.; Assure Project Plans, appropriate reporting means are developed and communicated according to company Standards and Business Unit implementing procedures. Effectively communicate with appropriate management/governance team. Plan assigned project(s) including scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality aspects. Champion the process of project planning including scope and work definition, estimating, schedule formation, monitoring, cost control measures, procurement/contracting strategies, equipment selection, vendor selection, start-up and commissioning plans, and integration processes as applicable. Execute projects according to plans within approved scope, cost and schedule constraints: This includes objectives, stakeholders, scope, roles and responsibilities, assumptions and constraints, deliverables, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), schedule, external communication, regulatory strategy, procurement strategy, contractor and supplier strategy, resource plans, budget, lessons learned, risk plan, quality plan, safety plan, environmental plan, security plan, integration plan, data management plan, communications and reporting plan, change management, and project close out.

Background Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field A minimum of 6+ years of progressive, related experience in the electric utility industry; Experience as a dedicated Project Manager will be preferred, but candidates with distribution engineering experience and/or experience on Duke Energy Carolinas programs in other capacities may also be considered A comprehensive understanding of business concepts associated with electric power and infrastructure projects will be required to be successful in this position Ability to demonstrate proficiency working with project scheduling including milestone tracking and change control Ability to demonstrate proficiency working with project financials and cost controls Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to travel periodically as required

Preferred Qualifications:
