As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to: Manage transportation engineering projects from proposal through final delivery. Build and maintain strong relationships with FDOT, county, and municipal clients. Assist PM with project tasks. Lead multidisciplinary project teams. Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and staffing. Oversee engineering design and quality throughout the life of each project. Coordinate internal staff, subconsultants, and agency stakeholders. Support projects during construction and provide construction oversight when needed. Identify project risks and develop practical solutions. Mentor junior engineers and help develop the next generation of project leaders. Contribute to business development by strengthening existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities. What We're Looking For We're interested in candidates who bring many of the following qualities: Experience managing or assisting with FDOT transportation projects. Experience working with county and municipal agencies. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience managing project schedules and budgets. Ability to lead engineering teams and coordinate multiple disciplines. Experience overseeing engineering design and quality control. Construction administration or construction engineering oversight experience is a plus. A proactive attitude with a desire to solve problems and serve clients. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in transportation engineering, with experience managing or supporting projects for FDOT, counties, or municipalities. We welcome applications from experienced Project Managers as well as seasoned Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers who are ready to step into a project management role. Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in many of the following areas: Managing or supporting transportation engineering projects. Working directly with FDOT, county, and municipal clients. Developing and maintaining project schedules. Managing project budgets and monitoring financial performance. Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams. Overseeing engineering design and quality control. Supporting projects through construction. Building strong client relationships through clear communication and responsiveness. Experience A Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required. We value leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to successfully deliver projects just as highly as formal credentials. Proven experience managing transportation infrastructure projects within a civil engineering or construction management environment. Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles including highway design, transportation planning projects, and traffic modeling techniques. Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation; GIS tools like ArcGIS; Bentley OpenRoads; Bluebeam; and transportation simulation modeling platforms. Familiarity with project scheduling tools and techniques to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects. Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while managing client relationships and stakeholder expectations. Experience working within DOT regulations and understanding of state transportation regulations is highly desirable. Excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports, proposals, and documentation required for project approval processes.
