assistance available for the right candidate The short version We build RhinoStak, engineered pre-packaged pump systems that ship as a complete unit: pumps, piping, structural skid, instrumentation, and a UL 508A control panel we build ourselves. We are looking for one person to own that product end to end. You will design it, drive it through the shop, go stand next to it during startup and find out what you got right, and then be the person the entire company comes to when they have a question about it. That last part matters. This is not a drafting job with a title on it. You are the technical authority on our flagship product line, internally and in front of customers. This role is on-site in Pleasant Grove, Utah. RhinoStak is designed, fabricated, and tested here. You need to be able to walk from your desk to the shop floor in thirty seconds, because you will do it ten times a day. This is not a remote or hybrid position. About Rhino Pumps Founded in 2013 and veteran-owned, we are a pump sales, service, and repair company serving municipal, industrial, agricultural, and mining customers across the Mountain West and Pacific Northwest. Our Pleasant Grove headquarters houses engineering, in-house machining, fabrication and balancing, a full rebuild shop, and our UL 508A panel shop. We also operate branches in Kirkland WA, Caldwell ID, and Phoenix AZ, with more territories opening. RhinoStak is our engineered packaged system product line, and it is the piece of the business we are investing in hardest. What you will own The mix below is roughly where this role settles once RhinoStak is running at volume. Your first year will lean heavier toward the design standard and the market development. Engineering, about 40% Hydraulic design and pump selection: system curves, NPSHa margin, duty point and turndown analysis, VFD control strategy, minimum flow protection Skid and piping design: layout, structural base frame, pipe supports, vibration and alignment considerations, seismic anchorage Coordination with our panel shop on I/O lists, instrumentation, control philosophy, and sequence of operations Bill of materials, general arrangement drawings, P&IDs Building and maintaining the RhinoStak design standard so the tenth unit is faster and better than the first Project execution, about 20% Own schedule, budget, and delivery for each RhinoStak build Vendor coordination and long-lead item management Customer submittal packages and O&M manuals Factory acceptance testing before anything ships Field and feedback, about 20% On-site for commissioning and startup Performance verification and troubleshooting A written post-commissioning report on every unit: what worked, what did not, what changes into the standard Product authority and subject matter expert, about 20% Be the definitive technical resource on RhinoStak for our sales team, our shop, our customers, and specifying engineers Train a rapidly growing outside sales force on what RhinoStak is, where it wins, and how to qualify an opportunity Support pre-sales: sizing, feasibility, budgetary configuration, and joining reps on the calls that need an engineer in the room Present to consulting engineers: lunch-and-learns, spec support, getting RhinoStak written in as basis of design Build and own the technical library: selection guides, application notes, cut sheets, standard submittal templates A note on how we measure this last part: success is not that you answer every question. Success is that the number of questions only you can answer goes down every quarter, because you built the guide, the tool, or the training that answers it without you. Why the job is built this way Most packaged-systems engineers design something, hand off a drawing package, and never learn whether the maintenance access they specified is actually reachable or whether the control sequence made sense at 4 a.m. on a cold startup. We are deliberately doing the opposite. The person who designs it goes to the site. The lessons come back into the standard. And because that same person is the one teaching our sales team and talking to specifying engineers, what gets learned in the field on Tuesday shows up in how we sell on Thursday. That loop only closes if it is one person. Splitting design, delivery, field, and technical authority across four people is how the loop gets broken at every handoff. If you have been frustrated by that disconnect somewhere else, this is the fix. What year one looks like We will be straight with you: RhinoStak is early. The capability is real. We have the engineering, the machine shop, the fab shop, and the UL 508A panel shop under one roof, and we have built and delivered these systems. What we do not have yet is a documented standard, a trained sales force, and our name in enough consulting engineers specifications. That is the job. Year one is less about managing a full queue of builds and more about: Turning what we know into a written RhinoStak standard: configurations, selection logic, standard drawings, standard submittals Getting a fast-growing outside sales team fluent enough to lead with it Building relationships with specifying engineers across the Mountain West Delivering the builds we do have, flawlessly, because early reference installations decide everything If you want to inherit a mature product line with a full project backlog, this is not that. If you have ever looked at a product that should be bigger than it is and known exactly why, keep reading. You are probably a fit if you have BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience, and 7+ years designing pumping, fluid-handling, or packaged process systems Real pump hydraulics depth. You can defend a selection, not just run selection software. Experience designing skid-mounted or modular equipment: layout, piping, structural, and how it actually gets built and shipped Enough electrical and controls literacy to have a productive argument with a panel builder The ability to explain a technical decision to a salesperson, a shop foreman, and a city engineer. Three different conversations, same underlying answer. Willingness to be in the field, in a plant, and in the shop, not just at a desk Bonus points for PE license, Utah or reciprocity-eligible UL 508A or QCZJ packaged pumping systems experience Municipal water and wastewater submittal and specification experience Mining, oil and gas, or industrial process background SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD proficiency Fire pump packaging, water treatment skids, or similar listed-assembly work Experience training sales teams, presenting lunch-and-learns, or supporting a spec-driven sales process If you hit most of this and not all of it, apply anyway. Annual bonus tied to RhinoStak gross margin, on-time delivery, and warranty and rework rate 401(k) match: 100% of your first 3%, then 50% of the next 2%. Up to 4% of your pay.

dollar for dollar, up to $84.60 per pay period. About $2,200 a year. Requires a qualifying high-deductible health plan.
