POSITION TITLE
Encapsys Project Engineering ManagerPOSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in guiding the engineering organization to deliver successful capital projects that advance the company's strategic growth objectives. This position not only oversees the implementation of standard engineering processes across all locations-ensuring projects are executed in alignment with our stage gate approach for product development-but also directly manages a team of two project engineers. Acting as both a coach and a player, the manager is responsible for developing and mentoring their direct reports, fostering their growth, and building high-performing teams. In addition to leadership duties, the manager is actively engaged in hands-on project management and detailed design reviews. The role maintains a dotted line relationship with manufacturing engineers to ensure projects are appropriately staffed and adhere to Milliken's common engineering standards. Collaboration with the process design team and R D is essential for defining new process and equipment requirements that support innovation and new product development.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Completion of capital projects within established timeline, budget, performance, and safety metrics. Standard engineering processes for project execution are implemented and followed for all capital projects. Current yearcapital spending aligns with approved capital budget. Utilizationof external resources whereappropriate todevelop solutions and implement best practices. Ensure project execution process is gated and includes the appropriate tools are used to for project execution. Engineering tools are available toengineeringteam tooptimizeexecution of capital projects. Develop and maintain a five-year capital plan that aligns with corporate strategic growth plans. Build strong relationships with outside engineering partners that can help us to effectively execute capital projects both domestically and globally. Work closely with business development teams to align engineering resources to ensure wesuccessfully delivercompany growth. Prepare capital budgets, reviewbidsand negotiate contracts. Manage project communications and reporting with senior management team. Provide specializedexpertiseor support to production or product development teams. Effectively manages direct reports, includingperformance management(setting and modifying objectives, giving prompt corrective feedback as well as praise, coaching for improved or sustained performance, reviewing performance, conducting salary planning),career development(planning and holding regular discussions with employees about their personal growth and development, including career goals), andbuilding open and trusting relationshipsthat further high employee performance and engagement.
