Starting at $23.00 Job description: As an Engineer, you play a vital role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of our guests and team members by maintaining the property's physical plant and building systems. Through technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintenance, you will help ensure every space at the hotel functions smoothly and safely. Engineers are responsible for the upkeep and repair of building systems while serving as reliable problem-solvers behind the scenes of the guest experience.Responsibilities include:
Maintaining and operating building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and life safety equipment. Responding promptly and professionally to guest and internal maintenance requests, completing repairs in a timely manner. Performing routine preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment, guest rooms, and public areas. Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues throughout the property. Assisting in maintaining an effective rooms and common area maintenance program. Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and property policies. Maintaining accurate maintenance logs and documentation of work performed. Responding to emergency maintenance situations and coordinating with other departments to minimize guest impact. Assisting with inspections of the property's physical condition to identify needed repairs or upgrades. Supporting energy management and sustainability initiatives. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Success in this role requires strong technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments. Engineers are expected to maintain company policies and procedures, protect confidential information, uphold quality and safety standards, and contribute to a safe, well-maintained environment for guests and fellow team members. A proactive attitude, reliability, and strong problem-solving ability are essential. This is a physically active role requiring standing, walking, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods, frequent movement throughout the property, and the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance. Engineers must be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varied indoor and outdoor conditions while maintaining a professional and attentive presence. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; technical training or certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing preferred. 1-2 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, or a related field; hotel experience is a plus. Working knowledge of building systems and basic hand/power tools. Outstanding problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate clearly with guests and team members. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. No supervisory experience or certifications required.Benefits:
