Associate's degree preferredPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced PCB Layout Designer / ECAD Designer to support the development of new electronic products as well as the maintenance and improvement of existing designs.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in schematic capture, PCB layout, ECAD library management, and manufacturing documentation. This position will work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering teams to develop reliable, manufacturable electronic products.

The successful candidate will have proficiency with OrCAD Capture, PADS Professional/PADS Layout, and Altium Designer. The role will support legacy designs while helping transition future product development to Altium Designer.

Essential ResponsibilitiesSchematic & PCB DesignCreate and modify electronic schematics using OrCAD Capture and Altium Designer.

Perform schematic symbol verification and maintain schematic design standards.

Design complex multilayer PCBs for analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic applications.

Convert and migrate legacy designs from PADS and OrCAD to Altium Designer as required.

Collaborate with Electrical Engineers on component selection, schematic development, and PCB layout.

Develop PCB stackups based on:

Signal integrityPower integrityEMC/EMI requirementsThermal performanceManufacturabilityReliabilityECAD Library ManagementCreate, maintain, and manage ECAD component libraries, including:

Schematic symbolsPCB footprints3D modelsComponent parameters and databasesEnsure library components meet design and manufacturing requirements.

Manufacturing DocumentationPrepare complete manufacturing release packages, including:

Gerber and/or ODB++ filesPCB fabrication drawingsAssembly drawingsDrill filesPick-and-place filesBills of Materials (BOM)Assembly outputsPerform Electrical Rule Checks (ERC) and Design Rule Checks (DRC).Ensure designs meet applicable manufacturing and engineering standards.

Cross-Functional CollaborationCoordinate design reviews with Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering teams.

Work with Mechanical Engineers to ensure PCB dimensions, enclosure fit, connector locations, and mechanical interfaces are correct.

Support prototype assembly, engineering validation, troubleshooting, and production release.

Work directly with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to resolve manufacturing and design issues.

Participate in Engineering Change Orders (ECOs/ECNs) and continuous product improvement initiatives.

Required QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.5+ years of professional
ECAD/PCB
design experience.

Strong hands-on experience with:

OrCAD CapturePADS Professional / PADS LayoutAltium DesignerExperience with both schematic capture and PCB layout.

Experience designing 4-20 layer PCBs.

Experience with:

Mixed-signal circuitsPrecision analog circuitsDigital embedded systemsHigh-current circuitsPower electronicsStrong understanding of:

PCB fabrication processesPCB assembly processesIPC standardsDesign for Manufacturability (DFM)Design for Assembly (DFA)Design for Test (DFT)Ability to create complete and accurate PCB manufacturing release packages.

Strong communication, organization, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment.

1+ year preferredExperience migrating legacy PCB designs from PADS or OrCAD to Altium.

Experience working directly with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors.

Experience with complex analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics designs.
