Linx Electric is seeking additional Field Engineers to join our growing industrial services team. We are looking for technically minded, dependable individuals who are comfortable working with machinery, electrical and instrumentation systems, computers, and industrial technology. Extensive condition-monitoring experience is not required. We are interested in candidates with the right technical foundation, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, work ethic, and willingness to learn. Our Field Engineers work in refineries, chemical plants, manufacturing facilities, and other industrial environments supporting the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance of machinery monitoring and industrial technology systems. What We Are Looking For Ideal candidates will have: Strong mechanical and technical aptitude Good computer skills and the ability to learn specialized software quickly Basic knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, controls, electronics, mechanical equipment, or industrial systems Familiarity with rotating equipment such as motors, pumps, fans, compressors, gearboxes, or turbines Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment information, and documentation Ability to work independently and as part of a project team Professional communication and customer-service skills Willingness to travel throughout the United States Ability to work safely in refinery, chemical plant, manufacturing, and other industrial environments Dependability, initiative, and willingness to take ownership of assigned work Ability to pass required background checks and drug testing Relevant Experience We welcome candidates from a variety of technical backgrounds, including: Electrical, instrumentation, industrial electronics, automation and controls, reliability, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, industrial maintenance, machinery diagnostics, process technology, mechanical systems, engineering technology, industrial construction, commissioning, and military technical specialties. Candidates with technical military experience — including electronics, nuclear, electrical, mechanical, aviation, or instrumentation — are strongly encouraged to apply. A four-year engineering degree is not required. Relevant technical education, military training, certifications, field experience, and demonstrated technical ability will all be considered. Responsibilities Depending on experience and project needs, responsibilities may include: Installing and commissioning industrial condition-monitoring equipment Supporting wired and wireless machinery monitoring systems Installing, testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting sensors and related equipment Working with vibration and temperature monitoring equipment Identifying machinery and monitoring locations Configuring industrial monitoring hardware and software Collecting and reviewing machinery condition data Performing route-based data collection Assisting with machinery diagnostics and troubleshooting Verifying sensor communications and system functionality Reviewing equipment databases and technical information for accuracy Performing structured software configuration and data-entry activities Supporting system upgrades, expansions, and modernization projects Troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, communications, hardware, and software issues Documenting completed work, deficiencies, and outstanding project items Coordinating with customers, contractors, technicians, electricians, engineers, and project managers Supporting industrial installations, outages, turnarounds, and service projects Following all customer and Linx Electric safety requirements Experience & Certifications We Value The following are helpful but not required for the right candidate: Condition monitoring or vibration analysis experience Vibration Analysis Category I, II, or III certification NCCER electrical certification Infrared thermography certification OEM machinery-monitoring training Instrumentation or electrical certifications Automation or controls experience Industrial networking or communications experience Reliability or predictive-maintenance experience Refinery or chemical plant experience Commissioning and startup experience Technical customer support experience Linx Electric is willing to invest in training and professional development for employees who demonstrate the aptitude and commitment to grow.
