Job Description
The Underbody Process Engineering Standards Specialist - Assembly will develop and maintain advanced manufacturing processes, specifications, standards, and process sheets for propulsion systems assembly, including engines, transmissions, e-Drives, and e-Motors. Working through simultaneous engineering, the role will define assembly concepts, automation, facilities, and equipment requirements for North American product and process launches. Near term, the role will also develop advanced process cost estimates, assumptions, and methods. This responsibility will transition to Industrial Strategy once the standards, documentation, and handoff requirements are established.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain propulsion assembly specifications, standards, design rules, and process sheetsLead advanced assembly process development, validation, and continuous improvementDefine process assumptions, equipment requirements, automation concepts, and facility interfacesDevelop near-term advanced process cost estimates, assumptions, and methodsEstablish the documentation, readiness criteria, and handoff to transition cost estimation to Industrial StrategyDevelop concept layouts and process representationsAssess product and process feasibility through simultaneous engineeringIdentify DTM opportunities to improve cost, quality, and throughputPrepare standards, process sheets, cost assumptions, and open items for UPE execution handoff

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degreeMinimum 10 years of automotive project experience focused on engine or transmission assembly systemsExperience developing propulsion assembly specifications, standards, process sheets, advanced concepts, and early cost estimatesExperience managing advanced process development, validation, industrialization handoff, and launch supportExperience supporting product and process introductions from advanced definition through RFQ, sourcing, commissioning, launch, and execution handoffStrong Excel and PowerPoint skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate with executive and senior managementStrong team collaboration skillsAbility to travel 10-20% to Propulsion Division plants and suppliersPreferred Qualifications:
