Job Summary Develops and modifies process formulations, methods and controls to meet quality standards | Recommends and implements improvements, modifications or additions to document work | Reviews product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules | Integrates equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications. Intimate/hands-on knowledge of Multi-Axis Wind Machines | Working knowledge of FMEA's and Control Plans | Experience leading and participating in problem solving (PDCA/A3/RCA) | Knowledge of CWS and Wind Machine Programming Impact of the Role General Profile Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines Solves complex problems Works independently, receives minimal guidance May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment Essential Functions Develops and optimizes continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization. Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. Identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve. Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy and raw materials. May act as a knowledge resource and guide for less experienced engineers. May work on processes for new or more complex products. Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience
Discipline/Major:
Engineering degree required Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree Knowledge, skills & abilities: CAD Software. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software. Equipment Evaluation. Mathematical Modeling. Process Engineering. Process Mapping. Requirements Engineering/Analysis. Statistical Process Control. Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma Knowledge of Product Design Knowledge of Data Analysis Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. This position is Safety-Sensitive. Travel Requirements Less than 25% travel likely. Responsibilities- Intimate/hands-on knowledge of Multi-Axis Wind Machines Experience with specifying equipment and machine configurations Working knowledge of FMEA's and Control Plans Experience leading and participating in problem solving (PDCA/A3/RCA) Knowledge of CWS and Wind Machine Programming Experience with setup and verification of new equipment.
