In Person Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support the R&D Foreman in developing, improving, and maintaining mechanical systems, tooling, fixtures, and jigs used in the production of shopping carts and point-of-purchase displays. This is a floor-focused, hands-on engineering position ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, practical problem-solving skills, and a passion for building and improving manufacturing solutions. The Manufacturing Engineer will help improve manufacturability, reduce waste, support new product prototyping, and increase equipment reliability and production efficiency. The position will work closely with the Preventive Maintenance (PM) Mechanic to troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify root causes, improve machine performance, and implement engineered upgrades and process improvements. Key Responsibilities Support the development and improvement of mechanical systems, tooling, fixtures, and jigs. Design, modify, and maintain fixtures and production tools to improve manufacturing processes. Assist with new product prototyping and production implementation. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturability, efficiency, quality, and safety. Troubleshoot mechanical and equipment-related issues on the production floor. Work closely with the PM Mechanic on root-cause analysis and equipment reliability. Develop and implement mechanical upgrades and process improvements. Help reduce production waste, downtime, and manufacturing inefficiencies. Evaluate existing processes and recommend practical engineering solutions. Assist with testing, validating, and implementing new tooling and equipment modifications. Maintain accurate documentation related to engineering changes, tooling, and process improvements. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and R&D teams to resolve technical issues. Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards. Qualifications Previous experience in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related hands-on manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Experience with tooling, fixtures, jigs, machinery, or mechanical systems. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, diagrams, and technical documentation. Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills. Ability to work effectively on a manufacturing floor and handle hands-on projects. Experience with fabrication, assembly, or production equipment is a plus. Ability to use common hand and power tools safely. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and take initiative.
