- John Deere Harvester Works This is a vital, long-term 1+ year contract opportunity paying up to $52/hr, including 2 Weeks of PTO.
Supporting current operations in the Front-End Equipment and Cab business unit, you will establish process controls, optimize assembly line layouts, and partner directly with shop floor teams to ensure high-volume manufacturing success.
Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:
Up to $52/hr (W2).
Location:
100% Onsite at Harvester Works (East Moline, IL) from Day 1.
Duration:
1+ Years.
Shift:
Primarily 1st Shift (7:00 AM
Must be flexible to work off-shifts, overtime, and weekends as business needs require.

Core Responsibilities Shop Floor Assembly Support:
Spend a significant majority of your shift on the shop floor troubleshooting current assembly processes and supporting production until daily goals are met.
Process Documentation & Controls:
Establish Sequence of Events (SOE), work center layouts, torque tools, assembly fixturing, and Operator Method Sheets (OMS).
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and execute projects impacting shop floor safety, ergonomics, process quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
Systems Integration:
Utilize SAP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to manage engineering functions, data, and process controls.
Required Skills & Experience Engineering Background:
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, reliability, design, or quality engineering.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Technology discipline.
Problem-Solving Mindset:
Self-starter with a bias toward action and the ability to execute tasks autonomously.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional team settings.
Logistics & Safety:
Must be able to consistently arrive on time and safely wear all required PPE (bump cap, safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, metatarsals). What Makes You Stand Out Prior manufacturing experience working within a unionized production environment. Direct experience developing shop floor documentation (SOE, labor standards, OMS). Hands-on experience with smart tooling (Atlas Copco, IR, Panasonic) or emerging technology (CVML, process automation, digital tools). Experience with line/process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance, and visual management tools.
