Job Description

We are seeking a skilled AV Design Engineer to collaborate with Sales and Integration teams in crafting audio, video, and lighting systems for various projects.
Responsibilities:
Cultivate strong relationships with both new and existing clients. Conduct site surveys in collaboration with Sales to ascertain customer requirements, ranging from straightforward to intricate system designs. Create preliminary layouts and sketches for design proposals. Design innovative systems for diverse settings including huddle spaces, classrooms, auditoriums, and boardrooms. Coordinate and lead detailed project handoff and kickoff meetings with internal teams. Maintain ongoing communication with project managers to ensure project milestones are met. Develop bid specifications and conduct cost analyses. Generate comprehensive project documentation including project descriptions, materials lists, and drawings. Provide additional documentation such as page layouts and AutoCAD drawings as needed. Participate in customer meetings and project reviews. Manage project budgets and develop Change Orders when necessary. Conduct research and development to enhance our product offerings. Provide technical support to staff as required, including on-site visits when necessary. Actively engage in personal and professional development.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a two-year degree from an accredited College or University, or 5 years of equivalent industry experience in Professional Sound Reinforcement or Audio-Visual systems. Three or more years of engineering experience in the AV industry preferred. Familiarity with structural and mechanical design concepts. Proficiency in D-Tools, AutoCAD, SketchUp Pro, Visio, StarDraw, or similar AV and architectural design tools. Experience in audio and video system tuning, calibration, and commissioning. Industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, or BICSI preferred. Formal education in Electronics or related field is advantageous. Excellent project management and time management skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Comfortable working at heights using ladders and lifts. Ability to read and interpret schematics and architectural drawings. Strategic thinker with attention to detail. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to solve complex problems independently. Knowledge of manufacturers such as Biamp, QSC, Shure, and Control System Programming or Design training with Crestron, Extron, AMX is desirable. Familiarity with IP networking, Audio and Video over IP protocols, and Digital Audio and Video Systems.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to analyze and interpret complex documents effectively. Proficiency in making persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics.
