Our client, a respected automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a Project Engineer to play a key role in driving process improvements, supporting production excellence, and leading engineering initiatives on the plant floor. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented engineer who enjoys solving problems, improving manufacturing performance, and working closely with operations teams in a high-volume production setting. About the Opportunity Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting manufacturing processes, leading engineering projects, improving efficiency, and ensuring production systems meet quality, safety, and performance expectations. This role is highly visible within the organization and offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on plant operations. Key Responsibilities Lead manufacturing and process improvement projects from concept through implementation. Provide hands-on engineering support on the production floor to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput. Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to reduce waste, downtime, and cost. Support new product launches, process changes, and equipment implementation. Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams to resolve technical challenges. Ensure processes meet automotive quality standards including
TS 16949 / IATF
requirements and APQP methodologies. Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and engineering standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and operational excellence. Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to equipment, tooling, molding, or die casting processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Proven experience in a manufacturing, process engineering, or project engineering role within the automotive industry. Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards including
TS 16949 / IATF
16949 and APQP. Experience working in high-volume automotive parts manufacturing environments. Knowledge of injection molding (plastics) and/or die casting (metal forming) processes. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively on the production floor. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across departments. Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for manufacturing excellence. Preferred Background Experience from organizations such as automotive suppliers, tier-one manufacturers, or similar high-volume production environments. Why Join? Compensation:
$100,000
