This position will be responsible for the reliability, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of highly automated manufacturing equipment and production systems. The successful candidate will have strong experience across PLC programming, industrial controls, robotics, HMI/SCADA systems, electrical troubleshooting, and automated production equipment . This is an excellent opportunity for an Automation Engineer looking to work in a fast-paced, high-volume Gigafactory environment where uptime, reliability, safety, and continuous improvement are critical. Key Responsibilities Develop, troubleshoot, modify, and optimize PLC-controlled automation systems . Diagnose complex electrical, controls, instrumentation, and automation faults. Support automated manufacturing equipment to maximize uptime, throughput, and equipment reliability . Configure and troubleshoot HMI and SCADA systems . Support industrial robotic systems, servo drives, VFDs, sensors, safety systems, and machine vision equipment. Perform root cause analysis on recurring automation and production failures. Implement controls modifications to improve cycle time, quality, reliability, and production output. Support new equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and production ramp-up. Work closely with Maintenance, Controls, Manufacturing, Process, Electrical, and Production teams. Review electrical drawings, schematics, I/O documentation, and controls architecture. Maintain and improve automation documentation, backups, change records, and engineering standards. Support preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for automation equipment. Ensure all controls and automation modifications comply with site safety and engineering standards. Provide technical support during equipment breakdowns and critical production events. Experience & QualificationsEssential 3+ years of experience within Automation, Controls, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Automation . Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience. Experience working with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff, or equivalent industrial control platforms . Strong understanding of automated manufacturing equipment. Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, industrial networks, and electrical controls . Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings. Strong fault-finding and root cause analysis capabilities. Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Highly Desirable Gigafactory or large-scale automated manufacturing experience. Automotive, EV, semiconductor, battery, energy storage, or advanced manufacturing experience. Industrial robotics experience with platforms such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA, or similar . Experience with machine vision and automated inspection systems. SCADA and industrial data acquisition experience. Controls commissioning and production ramp-up experience. Experience with industrial networking, including Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Ether
