This role will focus heavily on robotic welding, grinding, sanding, and finishing automation , with additional responsibility for automated material handling and broader manufacturing improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable working directly with production teams, maintenance, engineering, and automation vendors to identify opportunities and turn them into successful production solutions. What You'll Do Robotics & Automation Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of robotic welding, grinding, sanding, and finishing systems. Identify automation opportunities throughout welding, finishing, assembly, and material handling operations. Develop automation roadmaps and business cases focused on throughput, quality, safety, ergonomics, and labor efficiency. Program, troubleshoot, and optimize robotic systems and peripheral equipment. Work with equipment vendors and system integrators from concept through production launch. Evaluate and implement vision systems, sensors, tooling, fixtures, positioners, conveyors, and machine-tending solutions. Support offline programming and process validation for robotic welding and finishing applications. Lead automation capital projects, including equipment selection, justification, installation, and commissioning. Welding & Finishing Process Improvement Improve robotic and manual welding processes through fixture design, process control, and standardization. Analyze finishing processes and implement solutions to reduce cycle times and improve surface quality. Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives to improve automation compatibility. Troubleshoot production issues and develop practical, long-term solutions. Continuous Improvement Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to reduce waste, labor requirements, scrap, rework, downtime, and production bottlenecks. Utilize root cause analysis and data-driven problem solving. Monitor and improve key performance indicators including: OEE Throughput Cycle Time Downtime Scrap & Rework Labor Efficiency Facilitate Kaizen events and process improvement projects. Develop standardized work instructions and best practices for automated processes. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work directly with welders, fabricators, operators, maintenance technicians, supervisors, and other engineers. Train production personnel on cobots, robotic systems, automated equipment, and process changes. Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and preventive maintenance. Ensure automation systems meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Pay:
