Job Description

We are seeking a Safety Intern at our De Pere, Wisconsin plant for Summer 2027. This position supports the Health, Safety and Environmental team in promoting a culture of safety throughout the facility. This hands-on internship offers exposure to real-world safety practices in a manufacturing setting, including hazard identification, compliance audits, and employee engagement initiatives. Pay Rate $27.00 per hour Requirements Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis Enrolled in an Occupational Health, Safety or related degree program Living in or willing to relocate to the De Pere, Wisconsin area from June - August 2027 Strong technical aptitude and proven problem solving abilities Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization Responsibilities Must follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable, to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper Assist with safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Support incident investigations and help identify root causes and corrective actions. Help maintain and update safety documentation. Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify and mitigate workplace hazards. Contribute to continuous improvement projects. Assist in the development of safety communications.
