Job Description
This position is for 2nd Shift, Monday - Thursday from 2:30p - 12:30p The mission of the surface-mount operator at RCAL Products is to setup, operate, support, and tear-down the surface-mount production line equipment to produce quality product efficiently and effectively through rigorous documentation adherence, acute attention to detail, proactive machine management, and thorough communication. The following items outline the base responsibilities of the Surface-Mount Operator at RCAL Products Inc. Ensure smooth flow of assemblies through the Surface-Mount Department by ensuring machines continue to run Read Production Aid prior to starting any job Check in kits to ensure all the parts are accounted for Setup up SMT machines to run production During production pay attention to keep production flowing efficiently and effectively Communicate and address machine issues promptly Proactively monitor machine and feeder status to minimize line down time Break down machines and return kits after running them Keep work areas clean and free of clutter Be a team player Communicate with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure that the Surface-Mount lines run efficiently Learn RCAL procedures Hold team-members accountable to company performance and procedural standards. Summary As a Surface Mount Operator, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, specializing in surface mount technology and assembly of electronic components. Reporting to the SMT Production Supervisor, your role involves utilizing core skills such as soldering and reading schematics to ensure high-quality assembly. Your premium knowledge of PCB and IPC 610 standards will enhance production efficiency and product reliability. Additionally, your relevant mechanical knowledge and experience with hand tools and electrical wiring will support our commitment to excellence in electronic manufacturing. Qualifications Proficient in surface mount technology and manufacturing processes Strong soldering skills and ability to read schematics Experience with electrical wiring and assembly techniques Familiarity with PCB and programmable logic controllers Knowledge of IPC 610 standards Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools, machining equipment, and power tools Understanding of electrical principles and use of testing instruments like calipers and ohmmeters
