2856217072-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC mills, or multi-axis machines Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications Load and edit CNC programs using G-code and CAM software Select tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds for optimal machining performance Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and production issues to minimize downtime Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes Monitor production runs and adjust machine offsets as needed Train and mentor junior machinists and machine operators Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on process improvements Perform preventive maintenance and maintain clean, safe work areas Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards Document setups, inspections, and production data accurately Education & Experience High school diploma or GED; technical/trade school required. 7+ years of CNC machining experience Advanced experience with CNC mills. Skills Strong understanding of G-code, tooling, and machining principles Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Experience with multi-axis machining Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge Working Conditions Work is performed in a manufacturing or machine shop environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts, loud noise, coolants, and lubricants Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots, and gloves Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift Work may involve tight production deadlines and fast-paced operations Overtime, weekend, or shift work may be required based on production schedules Strict adherence to safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies is required Collaboration with machinists, programmers, engineers, maintenance personnel, and quality inspectors is expected Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision work Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise and moving machinery Typical Skills Safety Requirements All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
