Optics Manufacturing Technician

Job Description

Summary Description:
Plymouth Grating is an innovative optics technology company in the South Shore/Boston area, and is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated technician to participate in the production of precision glass optical components. The technician will be responsible for a variety of manufacturing procedures ranging from running processes on equipment to performing measurements.

Processes carried out with accuracy, repeatability, and in a timely fashion All observations documented thoroughly Measurements and procedures performed carefully and with completeness Responsible for adherence to all procedures, including safety and cleanliness protocols
General Qualifications:
Detail-oriented disposition Excellent manual dexterity and ability to lift objects up to 30 lbs Commitment to following direction and established procedures Computer literacy, including ability to use or learn MS Windows, Excel, and Word Ability to communicate with all staff professionally and clearly, both orally and in writing Desire to learn collaboratively and take on challenging new tasks
Experience and Education:
Experience in a precision manufacturing environment is desired Basic mechanical, electronics, and chemical handling skills are desired Clean room and optics cleaning, inspection, and handling experience is helpful; PGL will train candidates with the right attitude in all necessary technical responsibilities
Education:
minimum of high-school diploma; 2-year/associates degree or other relevant formal training highly desired but not required
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$20.00 - $28.00 per hour
