Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The E-Coat Technician will apply knowledge in E-Coat Paint Systems and Operations to achieve operational goals, ensuring production of high quality products while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The E-Coat Technician will have strong technical knowledge of all paint related equipment, including a thorough understanding of electrocoating and paint delivery systems. As primary technical resource responsible for paint equipment and part production, the E-Coat Technician will support Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Quality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Perform and document all e-coat paint lab operations, titration, solids testing, film build readings with Elcometer, sample panel processing 2. Responsible for light maintenance repair work with chemical feed equipment 3. Perform sample analysis to perform daily adjustments 4. Technical support, troubleshooting, and implementation of corrective actions 5. Assist with creation, documentation, and development of procedures and parameters to ensure the paint equipment meets all targets relating to quality, cost, and delivery 6. Responsible for overall performance of paint operations 7. Monitor operation of paint system to ensure high quality products, reporting any problems to paint engineering or supervision 8. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, taking a proactive lead in improvement of process and related issues 9. Complete inspection sheets to ensure product meets part specifications 10. Document any downtime issues and assist with troubleshooting activities 11. Partner with engineering team, assisting with launch activities 12. Maintain a clean and safe work environment 13. Cooperate with internal and external certification audits and customer audits, supporting site initiatives towards achieving and maintaining customer awards as well as quality and environmental certifications (IATF,ISO) 14. Adhere to Team Handbook, Quality, Safety, and Environmental standards, policies, and procedures 15. Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized, Lockout/Tagout procedures are adhered to, PPE is worn correctly at all times, and reporting of any near-misses, injuries, or accidents occurs immediately 16. Perform additional tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2. A minimum of two (2) years of job related work experience in a production facility working with electrocoating equipment and paint delivery systems; 3. Waste water treatment operation experience; 4. Experience working in a manufacturing environment for an automotive OEM supplier preferred;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1.
Ability to read and understand standardized work instructions and inspection sheets; 2. Working knowledge of statistical process control; 3. Ability to read and understand metric to imperial conversions 4. Ability to use and accurately record measurements using a tape measure 5. Ability to obtain hilo and crane certifications; 6. Basic plumbing knowledge, or the ability to learn 7. Ability to utilize verbal and written communication skills

From $20.75 per hour
