Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Canning Line Operator/Packaging Lead to join our vibrant beverage manufacturing team. In this role, you will oversee the efficient operation of the canning and packaging lines, ensuring high-quality production standards are met while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Your leadership will be essential in coordinating daily activities, troubleshooting equipment issues, and upholding food safety protocols. Duties Responsibilities Operate and monitor the depalletizer throughout the canning process to ensure smooth and consistent operation. Requirements Previous brewery, beverage production, or packaging experience is an asset. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Mechanical or equipment maintenance experience is an asset. Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move heavy objects. WHMIS certification is an asset. Previous forklift experience is preferred but not required. Ability to work independently while also being an effective member of a production team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Flexibility to work varying schedules based on production needs. Monitor fill levels and make adjustments as needed to ensure cans meet quality and production standards. Clean and sanitize the canning line and surrounding equipment in accordance with brewery sanitation procedures. Perform routine maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting on the canning line, including gears, the seamer, and other components. Monitor and regulate line pressures to maintain proper equipment performance and product quality. Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. Safely handle and use cleaning and sanitation chemicals, following all required safety procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the canning process. Follow all brewery quality, safety, and production procedures. Skills Proven experience in beverage or food manufacturing environments with knowledge of food safety standards Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently Familiarity with sanitation procedures, HACCP, CGMP, and industry safety protocols Experience operating canning lines, packaging machinery, and material handling equipment such as forklifts Basic math skills for measurements, quality checks, and inventory management Excellent manual handling skills with an understanding of heavy lifting techniques Leadership ability to guide team members effectively while fostering a safe work environment Knowledge of brewing processes or craft beer production is highly desirable Ability to operate industrial chemical handling tools safely within a manufacturing setting Strong commitment to safety standards in production environments including food & beverage industry regulations
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
