• John Deere Davenport Works This is a vital, long-term 1+ year contract opportunity paying up to $50/hr, including 2 Weeks of PTO.

In this role, you will provide critical engineering support to 3rd shift fabrication operations, troubleshooting automated and manual welding processes to ensure the facility meets its productivity, quality, and uptime objectives.

Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:

Up to $50/hr (W2).

Location:

100% Onsite at Davenport Works (Davenport, IA).

Duration:

1+ Years.

Shift:

3rd Shift (10:00 PM

• 6:00 AM).

Schedule:

Sunday

• Thursday night, with overtime and weekend coverage required based on production needs.

Core Responsibilities Production Support:

Support 3rd shift production operations to maintain continuous uptime, assisting operators, maintenance teams, and salaried staff with technical issues.

System Troubleshooting:

Quickly diagnose and resolve issues involving MES (Manufacturing Execution System), automated welding processes, and manual welding systems.

Process Execution & Documentation:

Support the implementation of new and existing manufacturing processes while developing and maintaining accurate process documentation.

Training & Mentorship:

Train operators on new processes, safety protocols, and advanced welding equipment.

Continuous Improvement:

Participate in process improvement initiatives, follow up on action items and work tickets, and drive project-related deliverables.

Required Skills & Experience Welding Expertise:

Proven experience with both manual and robotic welding systems.

Technical Troubleshooting:

Strong ability to troubleshoot automated and manual manufacturing processes during off-shift operations.

Adaptability & Independence:

Comfortable taking ownership with minimal supervision in dynamic, changing situations.

Communication & Logistics:

Strong verbal and written English communication skills; diligent with follow-ups and action item tracking.

Technical Literacy:

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Outlook. What Makes You Stand Out Hands-on experience with Fanuc robotics welding systems. Deep background in fabrication within heavy equipment manufacturing. Proven track record of supporting off-shift operations in a fast-paced environment.
