Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Title:

Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to support ground test wind tunnel infrastructure for missiles and hypersonics for the army. This role requires a strong technical background and a passion for innovative design and manufacturing solutions. Responsibilities Design and develop prototype hardware for army missiles and hypersonics projects. Utilize SolidWorks or other CAD software to create detailed designs. Apply design for manufacturing methods including milling and turning operations. Collaborate with technicians and machinists to oversee the fabrication of prototypes. Interpret results from FEA analysis tools to inform design decisions. Generate Technical Data Packages (TDP) and ensure compliance with AS9100 processes. Essential Skills Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar STEM discipline. At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and prototyping. Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with AS9100 processes. Experience with aerospace hardware and CNC machinery. Ability to generate and interpret Technical Data Packages (TDP). Experience with Abaqus FEA software is a plus. Mechanical aptitude or relevant mechanical hobbies. Work Environment The position is based onsite in Hollywood, with the potential to work at the headquarters in Huntsville and travel to Hollywood as needed. Collaboration with a team of engineers, technicians, and machinists is essential, with flexible working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The engineering team comprises individuals with diverse experience levels, fostering a rich environment for knowledge transfer. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $135000.00/yr. The clinic is not open to the general public and wait times are usually less than 5 minutes.
