AP/AR Specialist

  • Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AP/AR Specialist
  • to join our team at Lambert Contracting.
The AP/AR Specialist supports day-to-day accounting operations with a strong focus on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, insurance coordination, and construction project accounting. This role works closely with project managers, operations, and leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and job cost tracking within a construction-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP) Process vendor invoices, verify approvals, and ensure proper coding to cost codes/jobs Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts Manage weekly check runs and vendor payments Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and lien waivers Resolve discrepancies with vendors and project teams Accounts Receivable (AR) Generate and distribute invoices to clients/customers Track incoming payments and apply to correct accounts Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances Coordinate with project managers on billing status and collections Insurance Administration Track all insurance policies (GL, Auto, Workers Comp, Umbrella, Equipment, etc.) Manage insurance renewals, certificates of insurance (COIs), and endorsements Coordinate with brokers, carriers, and internal teams Maintain insurance schedules for equipment and projects Ensure subcontractor compliance with insurance requirements Compliance & Audit Support Assist with insurance audits (payroll, equipment, and exposure reporting) Track and maintain documentation for regulatory compliance (OSHA/DOT as needed) Support internal audits and financial reporting accuracy Maintain organized digital and physical records for all financial and insurance documentation Qualifications 2+ years of experience in accounts payable/receivable Experience with insurance tracking, compliance, or audits preferred Construction or heavy civil industry experience strongly preferred Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

From $20.00 per hour
