A Day in the Life The Acute Care & Monitoring (ACM) business develops technologies that help clinicians monitor, assess, and manage patients across the continuum of care. Within ACM, the Test Engineering function supports product development, verification, reliability, and manufacturing readiness through the design and execution of test methods, fixtures, and equipment used to evaluate product performance and system functionality. As a Mechanical R D Engineer II, you will support system-level, reliability, mechanical, and electrical testing activities for Acute Care & Monitoring products. This role combines hands-on laboratory testing, fixture development, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to evaluate product performance, investigate issues, and support verification activities throughout the product lifecycle. Primary Responsibilities Design and execute test methods, protocols, and procedures to evaluate product performance, reliability, and system functionality. Develop, build, maintain, and troubleshoot test fixtures, benchtop setups, and laboratory equipment used for development and verification testing. Perform mechanical, electrical, and system-level testing on products and document results in accordance with quality requirements. Analyze test data, investigate failures, identify performance trends, and communicate findings to engineering teams. Collaborate with systems, mechanical, electrical, software, quality, and manufacturing engineers to support product development and design improvements. Support the development of automated and semi-automated test methods, data collection tools, and laboratory processes. Create, review, and execute test plans, protocols, reports, and technical documentation. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Science and 2+ years of test engineering experience. Experience developing and executing test methods, test protocols, or verification activities for electromechanical products. Experience using laboratory instrumentation, data acquisition systems, or custom test equipment. Experience analyzing test data, documenting results, and investigating product, component, or system-level issues. Proficiency with SolidWorks for fixture design and development. Preferred Qualifications Experience in medical device product development, verification testing, reliability testing, or sustaining engineering. Experience developing test fixtures, reliability test methods, or custom test equipment for electromechanical systems. Experience supporting products that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components. Experience with LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for test automation and data analysis. Knowledge of ISO 13485, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, or other regulated product development environments.
