Engine Performance Development (EPD) is responsible for verifying the engine attributes related to combustion, mechanical function, and durability.

In this department we use engine dynamometers to test and validate these attributes.

Our work includes optimization of engine control settings to improve fuel economy and performance, validating the engines durability by performing cycle-based testing, and establishing advertised power and torque for regulatory agencies and marketing.

This is a hands-on job that allows individuals to work directly with engine hardware.

Responsibilities:

Design and execute test plans to validate engine attributes

Work with cross functional groups to execute test plans

Prepare test data for presentations to various cross functional team members Review Test plans and execute testing to support engine performance development.

Testing done to validate engine attributes for combustion, mechanical function and engine durability

Skills Required:

Data Collection

Skills Preferred:

Data Analysis

Experience Required:

Engine Only Combustion Development testing and calibration development

Experience in engine design or knowledge of engine functions

Background knowledge of engine testing and instrumentation

Familiarity of data processing tools, combustion data analysis, and engine controls and calibration

Experience Preferred:

Mechanical Development experience and engine functional understanding

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Education Preferred:

Master's Degree
