Mechanical Engineer II

Salary Range:
$79,500.00 To $94,335.00 Annually What You Will Do As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will support and enhance the design, performance, and manufacturability of electro‑mechanical products across both high‑ and low‑volume production. You will create, improve, and maintain engineering documentation using CAD and related systems, while collaborating closely with Product Development, Operations, and Product Management. Your work will enable stronger design‑for‑manufacture practices, product standardization, quality improvement, and long‑term product sustainability. Product Sustainment
  • Support & Projects Provide technical ownership of assigned products throughout their full lifecycle, ensuring proper form, fit, and function (FFF).
Define technical objectives, maintain product requirements, and uphold documentation standards to support reliable and efficient operations. Partner with Industrial Engineering to resolve product issues, improve manufacturing processes, increase yields, and support continuous operational improvements. Lead root‑cause investigations for manufacturing nonconformances and assist with product issue verification, justification, risk assessment, and resolution. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including cost reduction, product consolidation, productivity enhancements, and reliability improvements. Assist in developing or modifying assembly processes. Support tooling development or modifications, including CEAs when required. Execute verification and validation of product changes. Assist in specifying or developing test equipment and test methods. Support Supply Chain Management with technical input on controlled documentation, vendor communications, and supplier‑related quality or design concerns. Collaborate with Quality to address field issues and warranties, including root‑cause analysis and corrective actions. Provide technical support for Nonconforming Material (NCM) processes in partnership with subject matter experts. Work with Compliance to support regulatory and agency approvals for assigned products. Author and submit engineering change orders and act as a department representative for engineering change processes. Own updates to technical product documentation, including material control drawings, process standards, and customer data sheets. Support NPI (New Product Introduction) for configurations, including ratings approvals, configuration standards, and new configuration request evaluation. Contribute to new product introduction activities such as concept reviews, DFM/DFA reviews, and final design reviews to support efficient, reliable, and standardized production. Perform other related duties as assigned. What You Will Bring Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 2-4 years of design experience using CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred). Experience in one or more of the following areas: Thermoplastic material selection and plastic injection‑molded part design CNC‑machined component design and evaluation Mechanical and electro‑mechanical system/assembly design and testing Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering problem‑solving, and data analysis. Ability to support multiple sustainment initiatives simultaneously. Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and effective at collaborating across teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
