Senior Mechanical Engineer Natick, MA (Boston / MetroWest) | Hybrid MEP Building Systems Must-Have Qualifications BS in Mechanical Engineering Active Professional Engineer (PE) license 8+ years of mechanical/HVAC design experience in an A/E environment Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit Experience with HVAC design tools (e.g., Trane Trace, HAP) Strong knowledge of building codes, energy standards, and sustainable design Proven ability to lead projects, mentor engineers, and manage deadlines Overview A growing, well-established A/E firm with a strong presence across New England is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC and building systems design across a diverse project portfolio including commercial, municipal, healthcare, and industrial work. This is a high-impact role for a licensed Mechanical PE who wants to combine hands-on technical design with leadership, mentoring, and direct involvement in project delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead full HVAC system design for a variety of building types Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing Develop detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and control diagrams Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and multidisciplinary teams Oversee construction administration (RFIs, submittals, site visits) Ensure quality control and design excellence across projects Mentor and guide junior engineering staff Participate in client meetings and present technical solutions Support proposals and contribute to technical documentation Why Join This firm offers a highly collaborative environment where engineers stay closely connected to both design and construction.
