Job Description

Rime is seeking a Desing Engineering who will be responsible for the design and drafting, testing, assembly, and documentation of new and existing technologies. This position also supports mechanical quality-control activities, including dimensional inspection and disposition of components, testing and analysis of prototypes and field-returned tools, and the development and maintenance of quality-control procedures and documentation. On occasion, the Design Engineer will be required to support field testing new tools on drilling rigs and train field staff. Key Responsibilities Design and draft mechanical systems and components related to MWD and drilling tools.

Select and specify materials, manufacturing methods, and vendors for mechanical components.

Develop dimensional inspection plans and quality-control procedures.

Execute inspection plans and perform dimensional inspection and disposition of incoming components.

Prepare and maintain engineering and quality documentation, including ECNs, ECRs, BOMs, and NCRs.

Coordinate and oversee the procurement, manufacture, assembly, and testing of prototype components and test equipment.

Perform incoming inspection, teardown, and analysis of field-returned assemblies.

Maintain basic financial records related to project expenditures.

Train Operations personnel during the release and implementation of new technologies.

Construct and assemble prototypes, shop tools, test fixtures, and related equipment.

Perform laboratory and field testing of new designs and develop appropriate test procedures and protocols.

Generate, maintain, and analyze records and data from laboratory and field testing.

Supervise and assist QC technicians with component measurement, inspection, and analysis as required.

Understand, promote, and comply with the established Quality Management System within the scope of assigned responsibilities.

Promote environmental awareness and conservation of natural resources and ensure the proper classification and disposal of solid and hazardous waste. Qualifications

Education Diploma or associate-level qualification in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related technical discipline. 3 - 5 years of design and engineering experience.

Minimum of one year of experience using SOLIDWORKS or comparable 3D solid-modeling software. Experience with machining equipment and machining software is preferred. Skills Ability to read, interpret, and produce mechanical drawings in accordance with applicable ASME and ISO standards. Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with

ASME Y14.5.

Working knowledge of Digital Product Definition (DPD) in accordance with

ASME Y14.41.

Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS or comparable mechanical design software. Fundamental understanding of machining and manufacturing processes. Proficiency with standard computer applications and engineering software. Competence in the safe and effective use of a variety of hand and power tools. Competence in the use of dimensional measurement and inspection equipment. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Ability to produce accurate and complete 3D models, engineering drawings, and supporting documentation. Ability to develop and execute detailed component inspections and provide appropriate disposition and recommendations.

Professional (CSWP) or other formal CAD certification/training.

Experience programming and operating CNC mills and lathes.
