Overview We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our forward-thinking engineering team. Responsibilities Develop detailed mechanical designs and schematics using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo, translating concepts into precise 3D models and technical drawings. Perform tolerance analysis and mechanical drafting to ensure manufacturability and functional integrity of designs. Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation studies to validate mechanical performance under various conditions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including manufacturing, electrical engineering, and product development—to integrate mechanical components seamlessly into overall systems. Lead root cause analysis for mechanical failures or design issues, implementing corrective actions to optimize product reliability. Manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of mechanical engineering projects. Prepare comprehensive mechanical detail drawings adhering to ASME codes & standards, supporting manufacturing and assembly processes. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in quantum engineering or industrial design are a plus. Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering environment with a focus on mechanical product development. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, and familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools for integrated design workflows. Strong knowledge of mechanical principles including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), tolerance analysis, machine design, and schematics creation. Experience with FEA simulations using tools like ANSYS or similar software; familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, Arduino is advantageous. Skilled in project management techniques including project scheduling and cross-functional communication to drive projects forward efficiently. Ability to perform mechanical drafting, 3D modeling for product design, and mechanical detail drawings that meet industry standards. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, and quality standards such as ASME codes & standards. $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
