Overview McMillan Electric is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer - II to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in new product design, assisting in the continuous improvement of our current product line, writing specifications, and working within our ERP system. Your expertise will help drive innovative solutions, ensuring designs meet industry standards and client specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects across diverse sectors. Responsibilities Develop 2D and 3D mechanical designs, fabrication drawings, and customer outline drawings for new and existing products. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and support ongoing product improvements. Create and revise specifications for electric motors, components, tools, jigs, fixtures, and equipment layouts. Develop material requirements, compile material lists, and maintain accurate engineering specifications and documentation. Prepare and release drawing packages and Bills of Materials (BOMs) through the ERP system. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications and use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and design requirements. Apply GD&T principles to ensure design accuracy, manufacturability, and clear communication with manufacturing teams. Qualifications Associate's degree and demonstrated experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment, with working proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software and the ability to develop and modify designs to meet engineering and manufacturing requirements. Proficiency with CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, Creo, Pro/ENGINEER, SolidWorks. Solid understanding of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and perform technical writing effectively. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams effectively. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
