Annual Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Motion Systems Engineer to design, develop, integrate, test, and commission advanced multi-axis motion systems and automated equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design/develop X/Y/Z linear and Theta/rotary axes, stages, gantries, and precision positioning systems. Select and integrate servo motors, drives, direct/linear motors, actuators, encoders, and motion controllers. Develop mechanical/electrical designs, 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and schematics. Perform engineering calculations, component selection, and tolerance analysis. Integrate motion systems with PLCs, robotics, motion controllers, and automation systems. Troubleshoot, optimize, test, and commission mechanical, electrical, and motion-control systems. Take equipment from concept → design → prototype → testing → production. Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of relevant engineering experience. Hands-on experience designing and developing multi-axis precision motion systems. Strong knowledge of X/Y/Z and rotary-axis motion. Experience with servo motors/drives, actuators, encoders, and motion controllers. Strong CAD, engineering design, and product-development experience. Hands-on equipment development, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and integration experience.
