A Non-Destructive Testing Specialist uses ultrasonic, electromagnetic, thermal or liquid penetration tests to check structures or materials for cracks, defects or signs of corrosion. May work on large structures such as bridges, dams or pipelines, or check vehicles such as aircraft. Interprets and reports on test results that include images and measurements; maintains and calibrates equipment.

Set-up, operate, calibrate, and perform Process Control Checks on Digital Radiography equipment by following established instructions and record results. Review routers, procedures, techniques, and work instructions for completeness and instructions to perform operation. Process part(s) in accordance with procedures and technical instructions. Fill out required logs and statistical data sheets as required. Clean equipment and ensures it is working properly, and clean and maintain work area as needed. Interested? DON-NDT-00001.
Or the documented OJT & Classroom training hours required to certify as a DR level 1. Must have documented hours for Training & Experience per
DON-NDT-00001
(Level 1- Non Film) : Minimum 40 Hours classroom training. Training may be reduced to 20 hours for a certified Level 1 in Film RT. Minimum 200 Hours experience.
