Job Description

Lassen Municipal Utility District (LMUD) is seeking a skilled and motivated System Electrical Engineer or Senior System Electrical Engineer to join our Electric Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the planning, design, reliability, and continued improvement of our electric transmission and distribution systems. This position supports the full lifecycle of LMUD's electric system projects-from initial engineering and system analysis to construction oversight and commissioning. The system Electrical Engineer/Senior system Electrical Engineer works closely with internal teams, customers, contractors, government agencies, and utility partners to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of electric service.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in California
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents
  • Experience with system modeling software, GIS/ESRI, AutoCAD, and related engineering tools (varies by level)
For Senior Engineer:
5+ years of relevant electric utility engineering experience, including system planning, design, and operations
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and operate safely in field and construction environments
