Manufacturing, Inc. you will design, develop or redesign new or existing products for John Deere machinery. This position requires sound comprehensive knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawing, CAD/graphics, computer model work, and reading of drawings. You will be responsible for developing product designs and technical/instructional documentation with minimum supervision. You will plan and execute the presentation of these in graphic form (drawings) and in detailed scale computer models. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Develop designs for products, and technical/instructional documentation with minimum supervision. Plans, organizes, and coordinates own work. Collects, reads, interprets, and uses related reference documents and drawings prepared by other disciplines, vendors, or outside sources. Ensures compliance with approved design standards to provide quality designs, safety, manufacturability, reliable operation, and operating convenience. Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality, and satisfactory completion. Frequent contact and interaction with customers, vendor's representatives, assembly/shop personnel, peers, and other discipline employees. Assists others with assembling bid, approval, and manufacturing drawing packages. Helps others collect or deliver design and engineering data. May work in a lead role on some projects. Using engineering and design computer software to complete assigned work: Provide drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by other Designers. Research design options. Review shop drawings. Research relevant code issues. Assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with the G.R. Engineering Handbook.
