$65-75K with a 10% bonus
Job Summary:
The Product Development Engineer will work with a team of engineers to design mechanical products and systems, ensuring that the final product meets customer requirements.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead engineering projects by analyzing customer needs, market trends, and competitor products, and overseeing project execution. Evaluate mechanical systems and products through research and testing, applying principles of mechanics and materials. Ensure product quality and feasibility through testing methods and process improvements. Develop new products by researching materials and manufacturing methods, and collaborating with production teams. Improve manufacturing processes for cost efficiency and quality assurance. Maintain product and company standards by following regulatory guidelines and industry best practices. Generate product reports by analyzing data and trends, and provide technical support as needed. Stay current with industry advancements by attending workshops, engaging in professional networks, and continuous learning. Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and deliver results.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 1-5 years of relevant experience. Experience with heavy haul trailer or heavy equipment engineering is a plus. Proficiency in Excel and design software systems. Strong communication and analytical skills. Knowledge of cost accounting and lean principles. Ability to adapt to new tools and systems quickly.
