Owner's Engineer, Consultant Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Owner's Engineer, Consultant to oversee and support the development of a significant natural gas power generation project in West Texas. This role involves providing technical expertise and project management support for a private investment company's portfolio, specifically focusing on behind-the-meter natural gas generation facilities for hyperscale data center campuses. The successful candidate will ensure project compliance, technical integrity, and successful execution across multiple sites, including up to four sites with nominal capacities of 200 MW each. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile energy infrastructure project with innovative end-users, including a tier-one artificial intelligence company. Duties Act as the primary technical advisor and owner's representative throughout the project lifecycle, from procurement through commissioning and operation. Oversee the technical design, engineering, and construction activities related to natural gas power generation facilities. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project specifications, standards, and timelines are met. Conduct site inspections and reviews to verify quality assurance and adherence to safety protocols. Provide guidance on permitting, regulatory compliance, and environmental considerations specific to energy infrastructure projects in West Texas. Support procurement processes by reviewing technical proposals and evaluating vendor performance. Assist in risk management by identifying potential issues early and recommending mitigation strategies. Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and progress. Monitor project performance metrics post-installation to ensure operational efficiency and reliability. Skills Extensive experience in power generation engineering, particularly with natural gas facilities or similar energy projects. Strong understanding of project management principles within the energy sector. Proven ability to oversee large-scale infrastructure projects from conception through commissioning. Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with diverse teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and permitting processes relevant to energy projects in West Texas. Ability to analyze technical proposals and conduct thorough site assessments. Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and safety standards. Familiarity with artificial intelligence data center requirements is a plus but not mandatory. Pay:
$225,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
