Job Description

Join the Nichols team as a survey field tech. We are seeking a motivated individual with expertise in solo field operations using robotic total stations and RTK GPS for construction stakeout and data collection.
Responsibilities:
Perform precise survey tasks for land development projects, including construction stakeout, topographic and as-built data collection Ability to take direction and coordinate with Survey Project Manager daily to meet project requirements Maintain and operate survey instruments, including robotic total stations and GPS Collect and analyze field data; understand and maintain accuracy requirements Upload and process data for stakeout and collected points Daily record-keeping including both survey and administrative Ensure safety and accuracy in all field operations
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred 2+ years of experience in construction stakeout Proficiency with robotic total stations, RTK GPS, and data collectors Ability to interpret and understand construction drawings Ability to work independently and on a team Strong knowledge of boundary, topographic, and construction surveys Experience with CAD software is a plus Must be able to work in an outdoor environment subject to uneven terrain, dirt, varying temperatures, weather conditions, and noise Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly, sometimes over substantial distances Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check
