Our Power Services team in Houston has an immediate need for Entry Level CADD Technician. In this role Under the supervision of a Professional Electrical Engineer, you will perform project related work in the utilities industry designing and planning power distribution facilities.
What you will do:
Gather information from various record drawings, GIS maps, Google Earth and other sources Investigate project needs and provide solutions to complete the assigned project Determine Right-of-Way requirements for project design Conduct project site visits to take photos, verify utility locations, take field measurements, verify power pole equipment Compare survey file provided, with photos and research data to determine if it is up to date and an accurate representation of existing conditions Use available standards to create base files and necessary subsequent files Use all available data from research to determine possible design conflicts Assist in designing underground electric projects using MicroStation software Assist in preparing typical support drawings using available standards and procedures Address review comments from senior staff, client and other reviewers Prepare schematic plans or sketches using available standards and procedures Catalog final signed and sealed drawings Conduct peer to peer reviews Who you are: You have good computer literacy and are not afraid to learn new programs and skills. You are a good communicator who not only has oral and written skills but are also an excellent listener with above average comprehension. Mathematics comes naturally to you and is used for problem-solving and analysis. You are a critical thinker who can apply knowledge to new assignments and uses critical thinking to bring everything together. You also excel in time management and may have developed these and other skills in an administrative or technical setting.
What you bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required Have or are working towards a 2-year construction/engineering related degree or certificate preferred but not required 2 years relevant experience preferred but not required Proficiency using various computer The things about us you will appreciate!
