Survey Manager
Job Description
A Tampa-based land surveying company is seeking an experienced Survey Manager to lead our Fort Myers office. This position will oversee field and office operations, manage multiple surveying projects, coordinate field crews, review technical work, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of surveying experience , with a strong emphasis on construction surveying and project management . Occasional travel throughout Southwest, West Central, and Central Florida may be required. Compensation $65,000 to $105,000 Annually with bonus potential. Bonus Potential Key Responsibilities:
Monitors projects from initiation through delivery, interfacing with clients on technical matters. Works closely with personnel from other departments as necessary to ensure fulfillment of contract requirements. Manages the team; managing, directing, and supervising the field survey crews, and CAD Tech (s) on multiple projects with the ability to prepare construction staking calculations and reports. Manages contract budgets and estimates. Communicate scope of work changes with clients, including project schedule and budget impacts, and requests client approval before authorizing or performing any out-of-scope work. Prepares project proposals including scope of work, time, and estimated manpower. Draft Subdivision Plats, Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and other related Surveys. Prepare Record Drawings from Field As-Built Surveys. Build 3D Surface Models Write Legal Descriptions Metes and Bounds and Sectional Boundary Surveys
ALTA/NSPS
Land Title Surveys Topographic Surveys / Full Design Surveys Preparing TINs, surface models, and contours General computer skills in MS Windows environment including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Qualifications:
Strong construction surveying and roadway project experience required . Highly proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D . Working knowledge of Florida Standards of Practice and applicable surveying and mapping regulations. Experience with GPS, robotic total stations, and other modern survey equipment. Strong understanding of residential and commercial surveying practices. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and client-management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications. FDOT project experience preferred. Business development experience preferred. Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) license is a plus but not required .
