Job Description

Full-Time | Starting at $25/hour, depending on experience | Signing Bonus Available MRIC Spatial is a growing, Gator100-recognized Florida professional surveying firm seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our team. We offer the technology and project variety of a larger firm without the corporate environment. However, Friday work and additional overtime may occasionally be required depending on project schedules, workload, travel, or field conditions. What You'll Do As a Survey Crew Chief, you'll be responsible for planning and executing field data collection for a variety of surveying projects, including ALTA/NSPS, boundary, topographic, construction, and other surveys.
Responsibilities include:
Plan and execute daily field survey activities safely and efficiently. Locate and accurately survey monuments, property corners, and other markers. Identify and collect relevant site features, including utilities, storm and drainage structures, improvements, and topographic features. Properly enter field data using established feature and linework codes. Maintain accurate and complete field notes. Operate total stations, data collectors, GPS/GNSS equipment, and other survey technology. Review field data for completeness and accuracy before submitting work. Upload completed field data for review by the Principal Surveyor. Maintain assigned survey equipment, supplies, and crew vehicle. Supervise and train up to two Survey Technicians when assigned. Communicate field conditions, project issues, and potential problems to the project team. What We're Looking For Minimum 2 years of progressive land surveying experience, including at least 1 year as a Survey Crew Chief. Proficiency with total stations, data collectors, and
GPS/GNSS
survey equipment. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, quality work. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying terrain and weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry survey equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform physical field tasks, including clearing brush as necessary to establish survey lines. Occasional overnight travel may be required. FAA Part 107 Certification FAA Part 107 certification is preferred but not required at the time of hire. Candidates must be willing and able to obtain their FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate within 60-90 days of employment. MRIC Spatial will reimburse the cost of the Part 107 exam upon successful certification. Why MRIC Spatial?
